Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (SFRC)

Service Overview

Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (SFRC)

Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (SFRC) is a type of concrete containing steel fibers randomly distributed, which enhance its properties, making it more resistant to cracks, impacts, and fatigue compared to traditional concrete.

This type of concrete achieves three main objectives:

  • Overcoming the shortcomings of traditional concrete, such as shrinkage, cracking, and corrosion.
  • Meeting essential logistical and storage needs: Creating high-durability concrete floors that remain flat, allowing equipment like forklifts, AGVs, robots, and heavy machinery to move smoothly on a surface free of cracks and fissures, resistant to abrasion, and capable of bearing heavy loads for extended periods.
  • Ensuring globally consistent quality: The ability to execute high-quality slabs anywhere in the world, regardless of climate variations, using locally available materials such as cement and sand. This is supported by the company’s dedicated concrete research and development center, advanced laboratories for product development and design tailored to local project needs, and comprehensive quality management.

Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete is divided into two types:

Steel Fiber

Steel fiber consists of small fibers made from low-carbon steel, characterized by strength and flexibility, significantly improving concrete performance.

Key advantages of using steel fiber include:

  • High Strength: Steel fiber features superior mechanical strength, enhancing the concrete’s ability to withstand heavy loads.
  • Lightweight: Despite its high strength, steel fiber is lightweight compared to traditional steel, reducing the self-weight of structures.
  • Corrosion Resistance: Steel fiber is non-rusting, extending structure lifespan and lowering maintenance costs.
  • Environmental Durability: It withstands harsh environmental conditions such as humidity, high temperatures, and varying weather.
  • Ease of Installation: Steel fiber can be easily shaped to fit required structural designs, simplifying installation and saving construction time.
  • Dynamic Performance Improvement: It enhances the dynamic performance of structures, reducing the impact of earthquakes and vibrations.
  • Construction Sustainability: Steel fiber promotes sustainable construction due to its durability and recyclability.

It is essential to design and execute steel fiber-reinforced structures in accordance with recognized engineering standards to ensure quality and durability.

Steel Fiber Floor Slabs

Floor slabs are designed using steel fiber technology to meet the requirements for rapid development of automated logistics and storage operations.

This technology, known as Shrinkage-Free Steel Fiber Reinforced Self-Stressing Concrete (SFRSSC), provides a jointless flat floor capable of withstanding intensive use throughout its lifespan.

Key advantages of these slabs include:

  • Low maintenance costs due to their durable, crack-free surface.
  • Protection of sensitive equipment during movement on the floor.
  • High durability to bear heavy loads for extended periods.
  • Ensures performance continuity thanks to its strength and toughness.

2- Glass Fiber, Polymer, and Polypropylene Reinforced Concrete

Fiber reinforcement refers to the use of composite materials containing tensioned fibers to enhance strength and rigidity in various structures.

These materials typically include glass fibers, polymer fibers, and polypropylene fibers, which feature the following:

Strength and Rigidity Improvement:

    • Increases concrete strength and rigidity, enabling it to withstand various stresses and loads more efficiently.
  • Weight Reduction:
    • Characterized by lightweight properties while maintaining strength and durability.
  • Corrosion Resistance:
    • Improves the material’s ability to resist factors causing abrasion and damage.
  • Durability Enhancement:
    • Boosts material durability and extends its expected lifespan.
  • Design Flexibility:
    • Offers high design flexibility, helping meet diverse requirements.
  • Chemical Resistance:
    • Some fibers provide effective protection against harmful chemicals.

Fiber reinforcement is widely adopted across multiple industries due to its numerous benefits, with ongoing development of these technologies to improve performance and ensure material durability and efficiency in various fields.
